Q. Can we visit A.D. Acres, tour the kennels, and come play with puppies?

A. Unfortunately, no. We’ve recently changed our visitor’s policy due to Parvovirus being a real threat to the lives of young puppies that are not fully vaccinated, which doesn’t happen until 18 weeks of age. Due to this risk, we cannot allow customers to visit the puppies during this delicate time. Canine Parvovirus is a deadly, communicable disease which can be transferred on shoes, clothes, and hands. It can be easily picked up and carried on the soles of your shoes, without you knowing that you have been exposed. Parvo a is very difficult to get rid of and can live in the soil for up to a year! Parvovirus has been known to devastate entire litters so, please be understanding about our no visitors policy. It is for the safety of our kennel, and the health of your future puppy!

Q. How can I get to know your dogs, see your operation, and meet my puppy?

A. We will be posting videos of our adult dogs and giving a tour of our home-based kennel, and will provide you with pictures and videos of the litter(s) and schedule a video appointment for you to get to know your new puppy!

Q. How is the puppy selection process handled?

A. Once you’ve placed a deposit and given us your preference on gender, color and markings, along with a description of your lifestyle, and understanding of traits you’re looking for in your Springer, we will make the selection based on all these combined factors. We believe it to be best for us to make that perfect match based on this info rather than the customer choosing through a brief visit or only selecting according to markings, which isn’t a fair representation of the puppy’s developing personality. As the breeder, we have spent hundreds of hours with each puppy, interacting, socializing, and learning their individual temperaments and energy levels. We want the perfect fit for both you and pup!

PUPPY PICKUP DAY

When preparing for Puppy Pickup Day, please be aware that visiting locations where dogs have been, (ie. parks, trails, dog parks, kennels, lawns, homes with unvaccinated dogs, pet stores, even vet offices!), anywhere a dog could have been which you’re not sure of vaccination status could pose the risk of Parvo. If visiting these locations, be aware of the risk and be sure to sanitize your shoes (with bleach), wash clothing and hands upon arriving home. Please DO NOT visit any of the aforementioned locations on your way to pick up your puppy. When you arrive at our home- based kennel, we will meet you up front at the Puppy Barn. In an abundance of caution, you will be provided with shoe covers before exiting your vehicle. We ask that you do not handle any adult dogs, or other puppies in the litter. Your bundle of puppy-love will be freshly groomed and ready to go with their specially prepared Puppy Pack!

Thank you for understanding and we look

forward to meeting you!
